It's not real beef, of course, the ingredient panel reveals that it's soy protein and beef flavoring (I guess that's fair, others do that, too, but many frozen meals now have real beef). I didn't like the potatoes or carrots, either... carrots never get soft enough for my liking. |

| This Stouffer's Macaroni and Beef tastes like homemade. It smells wonderful when it's cooking, too. One thing I've found that I like to do is to let it thaw completely in the fridge first and then just heat it up in a saucepan. You can avoid the occasional hard pasta that way... some frozen pasta gets dry when heated from frozen state in the microwave. |

I eat this open faced because I can taste the cheese, chicken, and peppers better that way. Sometimes I make only 1/2 at a time, but if you do that, be sure to save the special grilling disc to do the other half.

(What little chicken there was, that is!) I'd have to be pretty hungry to want to eat this again. The baby ears of corn were one of the good parts. I'll rate it a 3 just because to someone who's used to lemongrass chicken, it may have been okay. |

I think my problem (besides the predictable and boring side dish choices) was that it lists "with tomato sauce" and that's about all it is... not a good meat loaf topping or sauce, just plain old tomato sauce. I am rating it a 3 for taste only but for other categories, I'd have to rate lower. I would only recommend buying this for two people to share, but even then the calorie count is tremendous (over 500!). If you can split it between 3 people, it may be worth the calories and fat content, not to mention sodium. Included in this meal: scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. It is over a pound of food. |
